We have been reading lots of books about bears and one of our favorites has been, “We’re going on a bear hunt” by Michael Rosen and Helen Oxenbury. In the story the family make their way through swishy swashy grass, thick oozy mud and many other obstacles. The Ladybirds have been on their own bear hunt in the Outside Learning Area, and have also been on a sensory walk. For this we had to take our shoes and socks off first and then walked over a path containing different materials such as cotton wool, pebbles, shredded paper, rice krispies and sawdust! We had to listen to our feet and try to describe what they felt like.
