Busy Half Term
(Posted on 06/11/20)
It has been a busy half term for all the Ladybirds and Bees. The focus has very much been on settling in and becoming more independent – and we’ve had lots of fun on the way! The children loved our first story focus of The 3 Little Pigs. We’ve been retelling the story, acting it out and making houses for the pigs. We’ve also enjoyed listening to Goldilocks and the 3 Bears and we’ve been making porridge, writing letters to the 3 bears and turned our role play area into the 3 bear’s cottage. The weather has been quite kind to us this term and we’ve been spending lots of time in the outside learning area. We’ve had sand, water, sawdust, porridge oats, herbs, vegetables—as well as mud– in our mud kitchen! It can get very messy as the changes of clothes are testimony to– but there’s lot of learning happening at the same time! The children are getting very good at putting on wellies independently so that they can dig and explore in the soil pit. They have been learning to take turns on the bikes and playing games such as hide and seek and what’s the time Mr Wolf? There’s always lots to do!
